Based on the shape of the popular Montana Jack scaler, the Montana Explorer (R170) can be used like an 11-12 explorer while providing superior access in the posterior from both the buccal and lingual side. Sweeping contra angle gives the practitioner comfortable access to more areas of the tooth surface, especially on the distal molar pads.
